Additional Programs & Volunteer Opportunities CheckMates: Peer-led Telephone Reassurance Program for Older Adults. Phone calls re made once a week by volunteers at the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh and offers a connection between senior adult volunteers and older adults in our community who may be homebound, isolated, or lonely.  Donating your time to CheckMates is a rewarding way to make a difference in someone’s life and give back to your community. Contact Amy Gold for more information at 412-697-3528   AgeWell Rides: A volunteer transportation program connecting volunteer drivers with seniors who need a lift to medical appointments, classes, grocery shopping, religious services or lunch with a friend!  The service is offered to seniors at no cost. Do you need a ride?  Is this you?  Age 60 or older.  Do not drive or have readily available transportation.  Can get around without assistance (you can use a cane or walker, but not a wheelchair).  Can make (and keep!) appointments 5 days in advance.
